PALCS is proud to announce that CPFA dance teacher, Mrs. Toni Duncan, has been invited to present her proposal, "Curricula Design: Access to Non-Dance Content and for Atypical Populations", at the 19th Annual National Dance Education Organization's (NDEO) Conference this November in San Antonio, Texas.

This past week marked 2017’s National School Counseling Week! Taking place from February 6th to February 10th, this special week celebrates the work of dedicated school counselors in schools across the United States. On Friday, February 10th, PALCS showed their support and appreciation for the PALCS Guidance department and counselors by participating in "College-Wear Day." Faculty and students were asked to sport their college pride in an effort to get students thinking about their options for the future.

PALCS Staff Members Sponsor Gifts for Children in Need

It truly is the “season of giving,” which is why for the 6th year in a row, members of PALCS staff have sponsored children in need for a Christmas gift drive called the "Angel Tree" for the Delaware Valley Children's Charity (DVCC). 16 PALCS teachers took on sponsorships this year. 3 of those teachers coordinated donations for entire departments within the school. Members of the Guidance Department, Student Services Department, and Child Accounting Department have all sponsored one or more children as a team.

PALCS Teacher Publishes Research About Homeless Youth

On October 21, 2016, PALCS 10th grade guidance counselor Erin Neason had an article published in the Urban Education Journal from Sage Publishing. Ms. Neason has her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from West Chester University and her Master of Science in School Counseling from Villanova University. Her article is entitled "Local Liaisons: Roles, Challenges, and Training in Serving Children and Youth Experiencing Homelessness."
