Congratulations to eighth grade PALCS Center for Performing and Fine Arts student Cole Gabrielson on his acting nomination in the award-winning short film "The Radio" at the Brightside Tavern Film Festival in New Jersey. Cole was nominated for Best Actor in a Short. The short was also nominated for Best Short, Best Director for a Drama, Best Cinematography, and Best NJ Short. "The Radio" won for Best Short at the Brightside Tavern Film Festival.

On January 14-16th, two students represented PALCS at the Pennsylvania Music Educators Association District 12 Orchestra Festival, which was hosted by Springfield High School, Delaware County. Senior cellist Jack Rubien and Sophomore violinist Hannah Ishizaki successfully auditioned for the right to attend this event in November of 2015, and reauditioned during the festival for the right to advance to the PMEA Region 6 Orchestra Festival. Hannah Ishizaki successfully was accepted to the Region Festival, which includes the top high school performers from Philadelphia, Delaware, Chester, Montgomery, and Bucks Counties. The Region Orchestra Festival will occur on February 25-27, 2016 and will be hosted by Council Rock North High School, Bucks County.
